Coach Norwood is entering his fourth season as the head coach for the Wildcats. A former North Gaston Wrestler from 1995-1998,Norwood helped lead the Wildcats to a 57- 5 dual team record including 3 Conference Titles , and a State Championship appearance in 1998 under Coach Kevin Dotterer. Norwood began as an assistant coach for the Wildcats in 2001 under  Cliff Travis and was named Head Coach in 2005. In 2007 the Wildcats won the Big South Conference championship and  Norwood was voted Conference coach of the year. Coach Norwood is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College, and is the credit recovery teacher at North Gaston.  Away from wrestling Coach Norwood enjoys spending time with his wife Wendy and his two children Tripp and Addison, he is also an assistant coach on the Wildcat baseball team.
