The top 16 individuals will represent their weight class this weekend in Greensboro, NC. The Greensboro Coliseum will host the State High School Wrestling Championships this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26th & 27th. North Gaston Wildcats are proud to have one of our own to represent us as the 189 lbs. weight class. Senior, Inigo Hughes will continue his climb to the top as he travels to Greensboro in pursuit of winning States. We wish him the best of luck! Go Wildcats!!
The Wildcats end their regular season with a 3rd place finish in the conference as well as in the conference tournament. We would like to congratulate Dylan and Bret for finishing 1st in their weight class and Aaron, Inigo and Jordan for finishing 2nd. And to all of them for being All-Conference. The Wildcats will go back to work in order to prepare for Regionals, which will be held at St. Stephens next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19th & 20th. We are proud of all our wrestlers and look forward to making our mark at Regionals next week.
Not willing to allow another win slip through their claws, the North Gaston Wildcast regrouped on Thursday and defeated the Forestview Jaguars 54-12 at their last home match of the season. Now the Wildcats set their eyes on the Crest Chargers when they travel down to Crest High School on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd at 6:30 p.m. Come and support the Wildcats!
The Wildcats traveled to Ashbrook and suffered their first lost in the conference with a 41-26 score on Tuesday.The Wildcats are now 3-1 in the Big South and are 9-8 overall. The Cats are back in action Thursday January 28th against the Forestview Jaguars. This will be Senior night for the North Gaston Wildcat Wrestlers. Friday January 22nd The Wildcats extended their dual match win streak to 5 on Friday night as they defeated the Hunter Huss Huskies 42-28. The Cats are now 3-0 in the Big South and travel to Ashbrook on Tuesday, January 26th where they will try and avenge last years loss to the Greenwave. Match time is 6:30. The Wildcats traveled to Belmont and picked up their second conference win of the season with a 55-14 win over the South Point Red Raiders.The Wildcats are now 2-0 in the Big South and are 8-7 overall. The Cats are back in action Friday January 22nd against the Huskies of Hunter Huss.
