Coach McClain is a former Kings Mountain Mountaineer wrestler from 1994-1998. McClain joins the Wildcats for his first season as an assistant coach. During his time as a Mountaineer, McClain was a state qualifier his 11th grade year at the 215 lbs. weight class and a 3rd place state finalist his 12th grade year at 189 lbs. Coach McClain is a graduate of Western Carolina University. McClain decided to join the Wildcat program simply because of the tradition of hard work and discipline the program has been known for since the epic battles of Wildcats vs. Mountaineers in his time. Coach McClain also loves spending time with his wife Shuntavia and his two children M’Kenzie and Mekhi as well as being a youth minister at his church.
